At Amietta, the primary focus for making great wines is on the vineyard: site selection, clonal selection and canopy management are the keys to our wines. Amietta is a world-class vineyard site on the edge of the Moorabool Valley, about 30 km north of Geelong. Our Chardonnay vines are planted in a unique area of pure white limestone soil - the soil which the French have known for centuries produces the greatest of the white Burgundies. We have planted the famous Dijon clones selected from Burgundy's GrandCru vineyards (clones 76, 95 and 277) which produce fruit with a mineral, citrus and honeysuckle flavour profile.

2009 White Limestone Chardonnay
Grown in our pure white limestone, this is a finely balanced, beautifully integrated wine that leans towards the Chablis style. It shows characters of minerally grapefruit and white nectarine with hints of honeysuckle, underpinned by subtle barrel-ferment notes.
